Effective date: 9 July 2026
Knips does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no backend servers operated by us. Everything the app does stays between your device and the servers you choose to connect it to.
Knips (“the app”) is developed and published by Andrea Lapiana, an individual developer. Questions about this policy: andrealap2000@gmail.com.
Knips is a client for music servers that you host or control yourself (Navidrome / OpenSubsonic servers, and optionally a File Browser instance for playlist editing). It is not a music service and provides no content of its own.
Server details you enter. To connect to your server, you provide a server address, username, password, and (optionally) access headers such as a Cloudflare Access token. This information is stored only on your device — passwords and secrets in the iOS Keychain, other settings in local app storage. It is used solely to connect to the server you specified. It is never sent to us or to any third party.
Network communication. The app communicates only with the server addresses you configure. We operate no servers that your app talks to.
Support (optional). Knips is free. If you choose to support development, the app opens an external donation page (Ko-fi) in your browser. We do not receive or store any information about whether, or how much, you choose to give.
No analytics or tracking. Knips contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers (IDFA), no third‑party trackers, and no crash‑reporting services that identify you.
Knips is not directed to children and does not knowingly handle any data from children.
Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. Data stored on your device is removed when you delete the app. If you are in the EU/EEA, you retain your rights under the GDPR; contact us at the address above with any request.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
